A SAILOR ON THE SEA

V1.  I am sailing out

On the blue sea.

I am the helmsman.

I am the captain

Of my fate.

I know I can not

Always expect

Smooth sailing.

The waters are

Always changing,

As I am navigating

My way through the sea.

V2.  When the sky starts graying

Over argentine waters,

I begin bracing

Myself for an oncoming

Storm.

The waves are undulating

And the wind is buffeting

The ship I am in.

There is great turbulence.

I have Esperance

In God.

V3.  You, O Lord are a refuge

To the needy in distress.

You are a refuge

From the storm.

You are supportive.

You are so strong.

V4.  Night has fallen.

I pray to God for help.

He calms the storm

To a whisper.

He stills the waves.

God has saved me.

The clouds part.

I look at the cinders

For the lode star,

To guide me to

The sea marge.

And I wait for the morning.

V5.  I am coasting.

I am cruising.

The ship is gliding

Through the ocean.

The sun is now

Shining goldenly

Onto the sea.

It glisters.

I am so happy.

God has saved me,

A sailor on the sea.
